Mont Tremblant, Quebec

Mt. Tremblant

Mont Tremblant, fabulous in all seasons.

Mont Tremblant, set in the Laurentian mountains in Quebec,  is fabulous in all seasons.  Although primarily known for its skiing during the winter season,  there is much to do in the other three seasons.

With the pandemic starting to get under control, we decided to drive up to Mont Tremblant.  We spent a couple of days exploring the area and enjoying the exhilarating activities.  Most of our time was spent in what is known as Mont Tremblant Resort, however, just down the road, you will find several restaurants, stores and a beautiful beach, in what is known as the Mont Tremblant Village. Homewood Suites by Hilton was our base and provided us great views of the mountain. The Homewood Suites is in a great location for exploring the resort village and also has a lovely outdoor pool for when you need a break. Check them out here

The well-known pedestrian village is at the resort and has many great restaurants and stores. The hill is quite steep but do not worry, they have provided a free passenger gondola to take you back up to the top.  Our favourite restaurant was La Diable, a microbrewery with great food and an awesome patio.

Attractions

There are many activities to keep you busy in Mont Tremblant, it is definitely not just about skiing.

The most exciting part of our visit had to be the Ziptrek adventure where we took the gondola up to the top of the mountain and made our way down the mountain via five zip-lines and a couple of short hikes.  A couple of the zip-lines were over a kilometre long and I was able to set my Apple watch outdoor bike activity to record the speed.  The watch recorded a top speed over 70 kph but I think we went faster on some of the other zip-lines. It was exhilarating for sure and I had so much fun.  No previous experience required, the guides take care of you.  No manual braking as they work hard to stop you safely and pull you to the platform

We rented a Go-Pro and were able to get a couple of videos.  Now I am comfortable with the process and with how the Go-Pro works, I feel I should repeat the experience and get better videos.

The views at each station were amazing and I hope you enjoy the pictures.

And check out this short video

The views of the village were amazing from the last platform.

If Zip-Lining feels a little too much, then take a turn on the Luge go-karts, the rock-wall, trampolining, lay at the beach or take another gondola up to the Casino and leave some of your hard-earned money on the tables.  Whatever you decide to do, you will have a great time.

When you tire of the busy village, you can take a drive down the road to Scandinave Spa.  I didn’t have time on this trip but have experienced the one in Collingwood, Ontario and can attest to the relaxing atmosphere. For more information on Collingwood, please visit my  Lazy Sunday in Collingwood post.

Also, Saint Jovite, is a lovely town to visit. In 2000, the town became part of Mont Tremblant and is often referred to as “Centre-Ville”.  Being the main business sector of Mont Tremblant, you will find schools, banks, stores and quaint cafes.

I am sure most people come for the skiing, but remember, Mont Tremblant is fabulous in all seasons.
