The Netherlands
The Netherlands in Europe, often referred to as Holland, happens to be one of my favourite places in the world. I first visited in 2009 and fell in love with the beauty of the country, the welcoming nature of the Dutch people and the ease of getting around. I swore I would come back with my husband and although it took 10 years, we finally made it in 2019. My husband quickly fell in love with the quaint cities, the interesting architecture, the amazing food and the abundance of cheese!
Through both trips, I never tired of visiting the small cities, each one with its own identity, its own place in history. I loved visiting the coastal cities of Scheveningen and Zandvoort, the political city Den Hague, the modern architectural wonder of Rotterdam, the artistic city of Delft, home of the famous blue and white china, the medieval city Haarlem and of course Amsterdam itself.
